Few facts about aluminium and why you should consider it for your home or industry.
- Aluminium's density is only one-third that of steel, and thus very light, and yet a very durable metal making it Ideal for windows and doors.
- Aluminium is very strong, as any aluminium alloys can match the strength of steel, if not exceed it, with the benefit of almost no maintenance compared to other options for windows and doors.
- Aluminium is not easily soluble in water, which makes it resistant to weather, and common gases within the atmosphere. Aluminium naturally generates a protective oxide coating and is highly corrosion resistant. Different types of surface treatment such as anodizing, painting or lacquering can further improve this property. It is particularly useful for applications where protection and conservation are required.
- Aluminium is 100 percent recyclable with no downgrading of its qualities. The re-melting of aluminium requires little energy: only about 5 percent of the energy required to produce the primary metal initially is needed in the recycling process.
